NHPC Ltd is a Mini-Ratna Category-I Enterprise of the Government of India, specializing in hydroelectric power development. Incorporated in 1975, it plans, develops, and implements hydroelectric projects across India. The company has expanded to include conventional and non-conventional power sources both domestically and internationally. NHPC has an installed capacity of 7144.20 MW, including 1593 MW in joint ventures, comprising 6971.20 MW from 22 hydro power stations, 123 MW from three solar power projects, and 50 MW from a wind power project. The company also provides consultancy services for hydropower projects, including survey, planning, design, construction, and maintenance. NHPC has several subsidiaries and joint ventures, and has been involved in projects in Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar.
