Depreciation charges surged 104% YoY to ₹642.01 crore in Q4 FY26, reflecting the company's expansion activities and asset base growth. The higher operational costs were offset by the significant revenue growth during the quarter.
NHPC achieved its highest capacity addition in fiscal history, adding 1,850 MW by commissioning 3 projects during FY 2025-26. The company commissioned the Subansiri Lower Project (750 MW out of 2,000 MW), Parbati-II Project (800 MW), and Karnisar Solar Project (300 MW). Power stations generated 23,307 Million Units (MUs) in FY 2025-26 with installed capacity of 7,401 MW from 25 power stations on standalone basis. On a consolidated basis, NHPC, along with subsidiaries and joint ventures, presently has 9,333 MW installed capacity from 31 power stations.
For the complete financial year FY26, NHPC recorded annual net profit of ₹4,220.46 crore compared to ₹3,411.73 crore in the previous year, with total income reaching ₹12,686.09 crore versus ₹11,614.61 crore earlier. The company's board approved a final dividend of 21 paise per equity share for FY26, reflecting confidence in its financial performance and commitment to shareholder returns. NHPC maintains its position as India's largest hydropower development organization with government shareholding of 67.4% as of March 31, 2026.
The company is actively engaged in construction of 17 projects aggregating to 9,204 MW installed capacity, while maintaining a robust pipeline with 9 projects with 10,263 MW aggregate capacity under clearance stage and 9 projects with 9,830 MW capacity in survey and investigation stage.
