About the company
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) is a public sector enterprise incorporated in 2003 as a project executing agency for the Ministry of Railways. It implements various rail infrastructure projects including new lines, doubling, gauge conversion, railway electrification, metro projects, and major bridges. RVNL operates on a turnkey basis, managing projects from conceptualization to commissioning. The company has completed numerous projects across India, with 37 project implementation units established nationwide. RVNL's major client is Indian Railways, along with other central and state government entities. In 2019, RVNL was listed on the BSE and NSE through an IPO. The company has achieved significant milestones in project completion, including thousands of kilometers of doubling, gauge conversion, new lines, and railway electrification. RVNL has also made progress on hill rail projects and commissioned various facilities such as coach maintenance depots and metro sections. As of March 31, 2023, the Government of India holds a 72.84% stake in the company.
