Hindustan Zinc Ltd, a Vedanta Group subsidiary, is India's market leader in zinc, lead, and sulphuric acid production. The company operates five zinc-lead mines, four zinc smelters, one lead smelter, one zinc-lead smelter, eight sulphuric acid plants, one silver refinery, six captive thermal power plants, and four captive solar plants in Rajasthan. It also has a rock-phosphate mine near Udaipur and processing facilities in Uttarakhand.
