According to reports from CNBC TV18, the ₹6,688 crore net buying figure from FIIs was offset by a significant block deal in Altius Telecom Infrastructure Trust. The transaction involved CDPQ Infrastructure Asia purchasing 52 crore units at ₹165 each in two separate transactions, totaling ₹12,061 crore. As per the latest data, this block deal occurred on a different date, allowing FIIs to return to net buying mode on September 2.
Indian markets are positioned for a positive opening with the GIFT Nifty surging 4.31% to 24,091.50, signaling a strong gap-up for both NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex. This substantial jump of 995 points from the previous close of 23,096.50 indicates strong buying interest ahead of the market open. Global markets provided supportive cues with US markets rallying overnight, as the Dow Jones gained 0.56% and NASDAQ rose 0.44%. In the commodity space, gold futures rose 0.93% to $4,455.50 while crude oil remained stable near $91.11. The USD/INR pair remains stable at 94.96, showing no change from the previous close.
