
Amazon India achieved its fastest Prime Day ever with significant improvements in delivery speed and customer engagement. According to reports from Business Standard, one in two Prime Day items were delivered within minutes in Amazon Now cities, demonstrating the company's enhanced logistics capabilities. Prime members on Amazon Now received free delivery on eligible orders and cashback offers during the event, with nearly half of Prime Day orders being for non-grocery items including cameras and personal care appliances.
The event showcased over 70% of new Prime memberships coming from Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets, as reported by Business Standard. Two-wheeler sales rose 1.65 times from the previous year, led by a 2.3-fold increase in premium motorcycles priced above ₹1.5 lakh. Sales of international home and kitchen brands in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities grew 4.5 times, significantly outpacing the national average. One in four orders arrived the same day and more than half were delivered before the event ended.
According to Business Standard reports, demand for higher-priced products increased across categories during Prime Day. Sales of premium beauty products tripled from the previous year, while premium grooming appliances and televisions doubled. Premium travel luggage sales rose 1.5 times, with shoppers also gravitating towards larger-screen televisions. AI PCs accounted for one in five Windows laptops sold during Prime Day, while sales of new-age kitchen appliances grew 4.3 times and smart water purifiers doubled.
As reported by Business Standard, Prime Day marked Amazon India's biggest sales event for sellers with a record number of small and medium businesses generating more than ₹10 lakh in sales. More than two-thirds of participating sellers came from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Nearly half of shoppers used Amazon Pay during the event, while one in four purchases across mobiles, televisions, electronics and large appliances was made on equated monthly instalments (EMIs). Interest-free instalments through Amazon Pay Later grew more than 2.5 times from the previous year.
According to Business Standard reports, Amazon Business also reported a 3.6-fold increase in new customer sign-ups and a tenfold jump in Prime memberships, with bulk purchases rising nearly sevenfold. The company noted that Prime Day also marked the highest-ever participation of small and medium businesses, reaffirming that Prime Day serves as a celebration for both customers and sellers. Over 70% of new Prime memberships came from smaller cities, indicating the event's success in expanding Amazon's customer base beyond metropolitan areas.
