Gold prices climbed in futures trade on Friday as firm spot demand and fresh buying by speculators lifted sentiment in the bullion market. According to reports from The Times of India, on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold contracts for August delivery rose by ₹689, or 0.45 per cent, to ₹1,52,950 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 1,206 lots. As per news agency PTI, analysts said fresh positions created by traders supported the rally in gold prices.
In the international market, gold futures gained 0.91 per cent to $4,728.57 per ounce in New York, reflecting stronger global sentiment for the precious metal. This international strength provided additional support to domestic gold prices, contributing to the overall positive momentum in the bullion market.
