ICICI Bank, India's second biggest private sector lender, will announce its Q1 FY27 results today, July 18, 2026, with the board of directors scheduled to meet to approve the financial results for the first quarter. The bank is likely to report a modest profit growth of 3.1% YoY to ₹13,164 crore from ₹12,768 crore in the previous year, as reported by Livemint. The board will also consider the revision of the fund raising limit by way of issuance of bonds or notes or offshore certificate of deposits in overseas markets.
The bank is estimated to see strong business momentum with robust high double-digit loan growth of 18.5% YoY, led by gold loans, corporate loans, personal loans and mortgages, according to Livemint. Deposits are seen rising 15.2% YoY, supporting the bank's diversified deposit franchise and branch expansion. Motilal Oswal notes that the bank is expected to maintain healthy lending growth across retail, SME and business banking segments, with personal loan growth having improved despite some softness in commercial vehicle and auto loan segments.
Net interest income (NII) is expected to grow by 10.5% YoY to ₹23,906 crore from ₹21,634.5 crore in the previous year, outpacing overall operating income growth. However, net interest margin (NIM) may decline marginally on a seasonal basis, while adjusted NIMs are likely to be largely flat QoQ amid deposit repricing and interest reversals in Q1, as reported by Livemint. The brokerage estimates NIM roughly 9-10 bps below ICICI's own disclosed NIM, equivalent to approximately 4.25% on a reported basis. Yield on advances eases 7 bps QoQ to 8.52% and cost of funds falls 13 bps QoQ to 4.10%, both decelerating as repo transmission tapers and term deposit rates hold flat through the quarter.
Asset quality is expected to remain stable sequentially with Gross Non-Performing Assets (NPA) flat at 1.4% and Net NPA also flat at 0.3%, according to Livemint. Provisions are expected to revert to normal levels after an unsustainably low base in Q4FY26. According to Systematix Institutional Equities, slippages are expected to increase sequentially, driven by seasonality in KCC loans, with credit cost also expected to be higher sequentially. The brokerage sees provisions at ₹13,692 crore compared with ₹962 crore in the preceding quarter, resulting in a 1,324% QoQ growth. Meanwhile, Deven Choksey Research has built in provisions of ₹1,280.7 crore (32bps annualised credit cost) as KCC and agri-linked slippages normalize seasonally across the sector.
ICICI Bank share price has gained 8% in one month and risen 2% in six months, as reported by Livemint. The banking stock has rallied 16% in two years and delivered multibagger returns of 118% over the past five years. The bank's diversified deposit franchise and branch expansion should continue to support liability growth, with operating income seen 2.8% higher at ₹19,278 crore versus ₹18,745.84 crore in the previous year. Motilal Oswal expects ICICI Bank's credit cost to remain steady as seasonal agri stress may be offset by recoveries, while opex growth is likely to increase in Q1 amid provision for incremental salaries.
