The Quarter story
The two most recent quarterly results, compared side-by-side.
Rites Ltd maintains stable consolidated margins and a growing order book, though seasonal revenue swings and consultancy pipeline contraction require monitoring.
Lease margin grows from 34.1% in Q2 FY26 to 38.1% in Q1 FY27, showing consistent profitability expansion.
Consultancy order book contracts from ₹2,903 Cr in Q1 FY26 to ₹2,597 Cr in Q1 FY27, signaling pipeline weakness.
Consolidated order book grows from ₹8,790 Cr in Q1 FY26 to ₹9,445 Cr in Q1 FY27, securing strong future revenue visibility.
Export revenue drops from ₹190 Cr in Q4 FY26 to ₹1 Cr in Q1 FY27, highlighting highly lumpy contract execution.
Export order book expands from ₹1,388 Cr in Q1 FY26 to ₹1,775 Cr in Q1 FY27, building a robust international pipeline.
Standalone PAT margin slips from 17.3% in Q4 FY26 to 13.7% in Q1 FY27, reflecting seasonal cost pressure.
Dividend payout holds steady at 94% in Q1 FY26 and remains at 93.7% in Q1 FY27, ensuring reliable shareholder returns.
Turnkey margin eases from 2.4% in Q4 FY26 to 1.4% in Q1 FY27, keeping profitability thin and volatile.
Turnkey order book increases from ₹4,209 Cr in Q1 FY26 to ₹4,718 Cr in Q1 FY27, maintaining healthy project intake.
Consultancy profit declines from ₹182 Cr in Q2 FY26 to ₹86 Cr in Q1 FY27, indicating margin compression.
Company insights, generated from the most recent coverage.
Management guides consultancy revenue to grow at least double digits in FY27 — this is the highest-margin segment at 31.4% EBITDA, so consultancy mix, not turnkey volume, is what decides whether margins recover from Q1's 22.4%.
Sensex and Nifty both up over 1% with Nifty near 23,000 — a broad risk-on tape lifts PSU and Navratna names like RITES mechanically, so most of today's +6.45% is beta rather than alpha.
Management is targeting roughly one export order per quarter, and a South Africa locomotive order of about 35 million units discussed on the call is still outside the reported backlog — so the published ₹9,445 Cr order book understates the true export pipeline.
