Hindustan Copper Limited is a Miniratna Category-1 Status Company and Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India. It is the only vertically integrated producer of primary refined copper in India, engaged in exploration, mining, beneficiation, smelting, and refining of copper ore. The company operates copper mines and concentrator plants in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Jharkhand, with smelting and refining facilities in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Hindustan Copper markets copper cathodes, copper wire bar, continuous cast copper rod, and by-products such as anode slime, copper sulphate, and sulphuric acid. The company has expansion plans to increase its mining capacity and has invested in subsidiaries and joint ventures for copper and strategic mineral development.
