POP, a fast-growing fintech and commerce platform for Gen Z and young India, has launched its 'POP goes Ulta Pulta - Zero Sense Deals' 45-day festive sale combining shopping offers with new brand launches, rewards and credit. The sale offers POPcoins discounts of up to 50-60% on eligible purchases, additional rewards on select deals and prize opportunities, including an iPhone Duo. New deals will be introduced throughout the 45-day period across fashion, fitness, travel, beauty, wellness, electronics and lifestyle, subject to campaign terms and eligibility. According to the company's latest announcement, the sale is live on POPshop and brings together POP's ecosystem with POPchop's credit offering.
The festive sale features the POPchop Pay-in-3 offering, which allows eligible customers to shop with ₹0 upfront through POPchop and split the purchase amount into three instalments over three months. As reported by Livemint, the feature is enabled through POP's partnership with buy-now-pay-later platform LazyPay, with the company announcing this feature on Monday, October 5. A majority of POP users are eligible for the offering, according to the company. The sale combines POPcoins discounts with POPchop's flexible payment option, making it easier for customers to manage seasonal spending without upfront payments.
According to Livemint, the feature's early adoption has been robust, with close to 20% of POPshop orders being placed through POPchop while the product was still in limited rollout. The company reported that nearly 40% of early POPchop customers were first-time credit users, while 60% returned to shop on the platform the following month. Early usage indicated customers were using the feature for larger purchases and to manage budgets for higher-value products, with the new 45-day sale expected to further boost adoption during the peak festive shopping season. Two in five of early POPchop users are accessing credit for the first time, making transparency and responsible usage especially important for the platform.
The festive sale introduces new brand launches on the platform including New Balance, Google Fitbit, Skullcandy, Mokobara, Comet, Cumin Co., Samsonite, PALMONAS, American Tourister, Wonderchef, NUUK, Nobero, Frido and Cult. These new partnerships expand POP's product portfolio across multiple categories, providing customers with additional options during the 45-day sale period. The platform continues to add new brands and categories to enhance its shopping experience for young consumers. With over two million users, POP combines UPI payments, POPcoins rewards and commerce, with around 42% of users redeeming POPcoins within a 90-day shopping window.
According to Livemint, POP was founded in 2023 by former Flipkart executive Bhargav Errangi and operates a payments, rewards and commerce ecosystem for young Indian consumers. 'POPchop is our biggest product bet on how young India is changing the way it uses credit,' said Errangi, emphasizing that for many consumers, the challenge is managing timing of purchases against monthly cash flow. 'For many consumers, the challenge is not necessarily affordability but managing the timing of purchases against monthly cash flow, and working with LazyPay has helped us bring this flexibility directly into the shopping journey,' Errangi explained. Ankit Nahata, Business Head at LazyPay, stated that the partnership brings together POP's strong engagement among digitally native consumers with LazyPay's experience in delivering convenient, digital credit solutions. The company aims to give young consumers greater control over how they manage their money by bringing flexible credit into a platform where they already pay, earn rewards and shop.
