PM Kisan beneficiaries must complete their mandatory e-KYC by June 30, 2026, to continue receiving scheme benefits. Farmers who miss the deadline risk having their next ₹2,000 installment withheld. According to reports from the official PM Kisan website, the government has made e-KYC mandatory to weed out fake or ineligible beneficiaries and ensure that only genuine farmers receive the benefit. The deadline applies to all existing beneficiaries regardless of their previous payment history.
The e-KYC process can be completed online through the official PM Kisan website at pmkisan.gov.in. As reported by the scheme's official documentation, beneficiaries need to click on the e-KYC option, enter their Aadhaar number and verify the OTP sent to their Aadhaar-linked mobile number. However, farmers who are not comfortable with the online process can visit any Common Service Centre (CSC) near them and get their e-KYC done through biometric verification. The CSCs will handle the entire process on behalf of the beneficiary.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 per year, paid in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each directly into their bank accounts. According to official reports, crores of farmers depend on this money and wait for each new installment. The scheme is among the most widely used welfare schemes for farmers across India, making the e-KYC requirement particularly significant for the farming community.
e-KYC verifies the identity of each beneficiary using their Aadhaar details, helping the government block fraudulent registrations and ensuring money reaches the right person. As reported by the scheme's official documentation, this is a one-time step that is critical for continued participation in the program. Even long-standing PM Kisan beneficiaries can have their installments withheld if they fail to complete this mandatory verification process.
