The government has not yet announced a release date for the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme. According to reports from Mint, as of 13 October, the scheme's official website lists the 23rd instalment, which was released on 20 June. The next instalment is anticipated to be released around October 2026, though this remains an estimate as the government has not confirmed a specific date. As of October 12, 2026, no public announcement has confirmed that the transfer has been executed, so claims circulating online remain unverified. Farmers should therefore treat expectations of an October payout as tentative, with the disbursement window anticipated within the next few weeks according to agricultural department updates.
Under PM-Kisan, eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments of ₹2,000, generally paid every four months, according to Press Information Bureau (PIB) notification. As reported by Mint, eligible farmers who have provided their updated details and meet the basic eligibility requirements receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually, in three instalments of ₹2,000 each. These funds are credited directly to the beneficiaries' bank accounts through a Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism. The 24th instalment covers the August–November cycle and historically, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare releases this late-year tranche between late October and mid-November, often timed around major harvest and festive periods.
To avoid delays when the release date is announced, beneficiaries must complete three essential verification requirements. First, beneficiaries must complete their verification either through OTP on the portal or biometric scanning at Common Service Centres (CSC). Accounts without e-KYC will not receive the payment. Second, land details must be updated and marked as 'Yes' in the official database. Third, the receiving bank account must be actively linked to Aadhaar with normal account linking insufficient; it must be mapped for DBT transactions. The Ministry of Agriculture has reiterated strict eligibility checks to ensure only genuine farmers receive funds, with the government mechanism depositing financial subsidies straight into verified bank accounts without intermediaries.
Farmers can check their PM-Kisan registration and payment status online through the official website. According to Mint, to check payment status, farmers should visit the official website at pmkisan.gov.in, click on the 'Know Your Status' tab, enter their PM-Kisan registration number, enter the captcha code displayed on the screen, click on 'Get OTP' and complete the verification process as prompted. Once the verification process is complete, the portal will display available details of registration and payment status. Farmers can check their registration details, personal data and payment status online to identify any discrepancies or issues that may affect the receipt of benefits.
The 23rd instalment was released on June 20, 2026, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi releasing the payment from Tarakeswar in West Bengal. As stated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, over ₹18,880 crore was transferred to more than 9.44 crore farmers in that instalment. Beneficiaries have been advised to watch the official PM-KISAN portal for all updates about the next payment. The scheme's release pattern indicates that installments are made every 4 months, with the upcoming 24th installment likely to reach farmers in October 2026, though this remains an estimate as the government has not announced any confirmed payment date.
