OnMeta, a domestic payment and digital-asset infrastructure provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with QazPost, Kazakhstan's national postal and financial-services network, to explore and develop new digital financial solutions for consumers and businesses across the country. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine and The Economic Times, the partnership brings together QazPost's nationwide distribution network and OnMeta's rapidly growing digital payments infrastructure at significant scale. The MoU was signed on October 2, 2026, on the sidelines of the AI & Digital Bridge 2026 forum in Astana, marking the formal beginning of this strategic collaboration.
OnMeta has already processed over $100 million in transaction volume in this year, reflecting growing demand for faster and more seamless digital financial services. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, this substantial transaction volume demonstrates the increasing adoption of digital payment solutions in the Kazakhstani market. The collaboration comes at a time when digital financial services are becoming an increasingly important part of how people transact, transfer money and access financial products across Kazakhstan.
Qazpost is Kazakhstan's national postal operator and a 100 per cent subsidiary of the state holding Samruk-Kazyna. According to the partnership announcement, Qazpost operates with approximately 2,500 locations and 17,000 employees, serving customers across major cities and rural communities. This extensive network provides significant reach for the digital financial services initiative, with its presence across postal, logistics and financial services making it an established part of the country's everyday infrastructure.
As part of the collaboration, the parties intend to study possible scenarios for integrating OnMeta's relevant solutions into the Qazpost mobile application, as well as requirements for product architecture, compliance, and technological infrastructure. According to the memorandum, the parties intend to exchange information and expertise, hold consultations, jointly plan future areas of work and conclude separate agreements. The collaboration will begin by identifying priority use cases and developing a roadmap for potential implementation, with the first phase focusing on assessing practical customer needs and determining where digital infrastructure can meaningfully support them. The work will examine technological architecture, compliance considerations and infrastructure required to support potential integrations, with compliance and operational requirements being considered alongside technology rather than treated as separate considerations.
Thillainayagam Bharath, Founder & CEO of OnMeta, stated that people adopt new age financial services through institutions they already trust, and QazPost has earned that trust in every corner of the country. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine and The Economic Times, he added that pairing their digital infrastructure with that network gives them a real opportunity to bring the next generation of financial services to people across Kazakhstan. Bekezhan Zhakeyev, Chairman of the Board of Kazpost JSC, emphasized that the cooperation is an opportunity to explore new technological solutions and models for their application in the Kazakhstani market, with their current task being to assess potential integration formats, technological requirements and regulatory aspects. The MoU does not represent an immediate commercial rollout - any future implementation will depend on the findings of these assessments, applicable regulatory requirements and separate agreements between OnMeta and QazPost.
