Alpha AMC launched AIF Platform, a digital tool that enables investors to compare and evaluate 1,992 SEBI-registered Alternative Investment Funds through a single interface. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, this marks the first such dedicated tool in a market that previously lacked centralised data infrastructure available to mutual fund investors. The platform is available on web, Android and iOS platforms and targets HNIs, UHNIs, family offices, institutional investors and founders.
The launch coincides with India's AIF industry managing ₹16.94 lakh crore in total commitments as of March 2026, as reported by The Hindu BusinessLine. The commitments are distributed across Category I (₹1.05 lakh crore), Category II (₹12.74 lakh crore) and Category III (₹3.14 lakh crore). Additionally, 183 additional scheme applications are pending under SEBI's GARUDA framework, indicating continued growth in the alternative investment sector.
The platform consolidates fund data, AMC profiles, fund manager backgrounds, benchmark comparisons, performance metrics and regulatory disclosures into a single interface. According to The Hindu BusinessLine, users can compare funds across strategy, target IRR, tenure, fees, risk classification and minimum investment, with all data presented in standardised format across SEBI's three AIF categories. The platform provides standalone profiles for Asset Management Companies and fund managers, covering career timelines, credentials, education and every fund under management.
Fund managers can claim profiles under the same verification process, with AMCs able to verify their profiles directly through a self-serve 'Claim Your Profile' feature that bypasses third-party intermediaries. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, the platform organises all content according to SEBI's Category I, II and III framework, ensuring funds are evaluated within their own regulatory and strategic context rather than against incomparable benchmarks. Alpha AMC itself runs the VentureX Fund, a Category I AIF focused on pre-IPO and SME businesses across technology, consumer, chemicals and manufacturing sectors.
