
The combined market valuation of seven of the top 10 valued firms eroded by ₹1.54 lakh crore last week, with holiday-shortened trading sessions contributing to market volatility. According to reports from PTI, Zee News, NDTV Profit, The Times of India, and The Financial Express, the BSE benchmark Sensex dropped 639.61 points, or 0.84 per cent, while the NSE Nifty declined 171.55 points, or 0.72 per cent during the period. As per ET Now, this represents a significant erosion in the market capitalisation of India's most valued companies over the four-day trading week. Market experts note that investors remained cautious amid the volatility, with technical analysts identifying key resistance levels at 23,900 and 24,100 for the Nifty, while support is seen at 23,400 and 23,200.
Reliance Industries suffered the largest valuation loss, with its market capitalisation dropping by ₹46,078.3 crore to ₹17,87,039.40 crore, recording the steepest decline among India's top 10 most-valued companies. As reported by PTI, Zee News, NDTV Profit, The Times of India, and The Financial Express, HDFC Bank followed with a decline of ₹33,333.06 crore to ₹11,46,641.84 crore, taking its market value to ₹11.47 lakh crore. Bharti Airtel saw its valuation tumble by ₹25,408.96 crore to ₹11,14,886.53 crore, while TCS experienced a significant decline of ₹22,920.58 crore to ₹8,15,480.75 crore. From the top 10 pack, only State Bank of India, Larsen & Toubro, and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) were gainers during the period.
According to PTI, Zee News, NDTV Profit, The Times of India, and The Financial Express reports, Hindustan Unilever saw its market capitalisation diminish by ₹13,169.46 crore to ₹5,04,210.54 crore. Bajaj Finance declined by ₹7,253.24 crore to ₹5,63,262.33 crore, while ICICI Bank dipped by ₹6,311.41 crore to ₹9,00,589.91 crore. From the top 10 pack, only State Bank of India, Larsen & Toubro, and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) were gainers during the period.

State Bank of India saw its mcap climb ₹13,753.62 crore to ₹8,89,831.54 crore, while LIC went up by ₹6,040.37 crore to ₹5,20,484.06 crore, taking it to ₹5.20 trillion. Despite the overall decline in the top 10 pack, Reliance Industries remained the most valued domestic firm, followed by HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, TCS, Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, LIC, and Hindustan Unilever.
