Ather Energy shares hit a new high of ₹1,068.80, gaining 3% on Monday's intra-day trade on the BSE, as reported by Business Standard. The electric two-wheeler manufacturer's stock has demonstrated remarkable resilience, surging 14% in the past week and bouncing back 82% from its January low level of ₹588.65. In the past one year, Ather Energy's shares have appreciated by 240%, significantly outperforming the BSE Sensex's 4% decline during the same period.
According to Business Standard, Ather Energy's market share grew 4X, rising from 4.1% in June 2024 quarter to 17.3% in March 2026 quarter. The company's family scooter Rizta has been a key driver, crossing the 3 lakh-unit sales milestone within two years of its launch. The Rizta added the next 1 lakh units in just five months, with the company's market share growing over 3X in northern states including Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh during the same period.
As reported by Business Standard, Ather delivered strong earnings in Q4FY26, with revenue up 74% year-on-year. FY26 revenue rose 63% on volume growth, aided by network expansion and strong attach rates. The company's market share improved by about 1100 bps from about 8% to about 18.6% in Q4FY26. Management indicated that Ebitda losses came down from 23% to about negative 2%, with the improvement driven by continuously improving unit economics and operating leverage.
According to Business Standard, the Indian electric two-wheeler market is experiencing remarkable growth, with an estimated 70-75% of scooters expected to be electric by FY31. However, the company faces margin pressures from lithium prices surging 2-2.5x, increasing cell costs and battery share in the Bill of Materials. About three-fourths of the cost below gross margin is fundamentally fixed in nature, providing strong operating leverage, but near-term margins may face pressure from elevated commodity costs.
