Nifty ended the session almost flat at 23,907.15, down just 0.03%, continuing to consolidate around the 24,000 zone. The daily chart shows the index trading within an upward-sloping regression channel, with the current positioning near the middle of the channel, indicating steady strength. India VIX declined sharply by 7.13% to settle at 14.98, dropping below the 15 mark for the first time since the March correction began. The near-term outlook remains positive, with a buy-on-dip approach likely to remain intact as long as 23,670 is defended.
Varroc Engineering reported strong Q4 performance with revenue rising 12.8% to ₹2,368 crore compared to ₹2,099 crore in the previous year. The company's EBITDA increased 8.0% to ₹230 crore while net profit surged to ₹69.3 crore from ₹20.6 crore. However, the company recorded a one-time loss of ₹56 crore in Q4 FY25. The board approved raising up to ₹500 crore via NCDs and increased borrowing limit to ₹3,000 crore.
Coal India is set to see government action as the government will exercise the oversubscription option of 1% (6.2 crore shares) in its ongoing OFS, taking the total offer size to 2% (12.3 crore shares). Retail investors can subscribe to 10% of the total offer starting May 29. Meanwhile, Reliance Industries has fixed June 5 as the record date for determining FY26 dividend eligibility, with its 49th AGM scheduled for June 19.
