Indian equity markets faced multiple headwinds on Wednesday, with rising crude oil prices being the biggest concern as Brent crude traded around $91-$92 per barrel due to continued uncertainty over the US-Iran situation. The financial sector weakness also contributed significantly to the decline, with financial stocks remaining under pressure and carrying large weight in major indices. Foreign investor selling and weak market breadth, with around 2,147 stocks declining compared to 1,500 advancing by late morning, indicated that selling pressure was widespread across the market.
