
Chhattisgarh has implemented 435 reforms and is emerging as a preferred investment destination, according to Chief Minister reports. The state has received investment proposals worth more than ₹8 trillion through organized investor meets across major Indian cities and international markets including Japan and South Korea. The transformation is supported by streamlined approvals, a robust single-window system, strong infrastructure, and industry-friendly policies. The state is positioning itself as a leader in green steel production and rapidly strengthening its position as a national power hub.
Chhattisgarh has received investment proposals worth ₹3.5 trillion in the energy sector, as reported by the Chief Minister. The state is establishing two state-of-the-art semiconductor units and setting up new industries in sectors including sports equipment, semiconductors, electronics, bio-ethanol, garments, and textiles. The textile park being developed over 81 acres in Nava Raipur has already attracted ₹235 crore investment by Swift Textiles, creating 4,650 jobs. Additional land allocation to two companies brings the proposed investment to nearly ₹445 crore and will generate more than 11,000 employment opportunities.
The revamped Krishak Unnati Yojana for the 2026 kharif season provides ₹3,100 per quintal for paddy while encouraging farmers to explore alternative crops, according to the Chief Minister's statements. Farmers cultivating pulses, oilseeds, maize, kodo millet, kutki, ragi and cotton, or those shifting from paddy to other kharif crops, will receive input assistance of ₹15,000 per acre. The policy aims to promote crop diversification, improve soil health, optimize water use, and strengthen long-term agricultural productivity. The state has also recorded exports worth ₹761.76 crore up to February 2026 under the 'One District-One Product' scheme, with aromatic rice making the most significant contribution.
The state government aims to increase the average monthly income of families in Bastar to ₹30,000 within the next three years, as outlined by the Chief Minister. This comprehensive development strategy includes strengthening agriculture through major irrigation projects that will bring 32,000 hectares under assured irrigation. Two major irrigation projects, costing over ₹2,000 crore, are being launched to enhance irrigation facilities. The state is also launching a dairy-led 'White Revolution' in Bastar' by providing milch cows and buffaloes to tribal families and creating an ecosystem for dairy collection, processing, transportation, and marketing.
Regarding the fiscal deficit of 4.1% of GSDP for 2026-27, the Chief Minister emphasized that this should be viewed in the broader context of development priorities, according to reports. The government is ensuring that borrowed resources are directed towards productive capital investments that create employment and improve public services. More than 15,100 kilometres of roads have been constructed, over 9,600 mobile towers installed, and 6,025 post offices equipped with banking services launched. The state's rail network has doubled during the last twelve years, with the approval of the Champa-Korba third rail line project at ₹755 crore and allocation of ₹7,470 crore for rail projects in 2026-27 budget.
