XRP Ledger's v3.2.0 software has achieved 66% validator adoption with 99 validators now running the release, according to recent XRPL Explorer data. The software has been installed on 481 nodes, representing 57.33% of the tracked network, demonstrating significant progress since its June rollout. However, version 3.1.3 continues to operate on 42 validators (28% of the validator set) and 323 nodes (38.41% of the 825 observed nodes) remain on the older software version.
The fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment has secured 85.71% support from validators, with 30 validators voting in favor and only 5 opposing the proposal, as reported by XRPL governance data. The amendment requires support from at least 80% of trusted validators for two consecutive weeks before activation. With 8 days remaining before the scheduled July 29, 2026 activation at 09:57 UTC, the amendment maintains a 5.71 percentage point buffer above the required threshold. Support must remain at or above 80% throughout the countdown period, or the network's two-week timer will restart.
Version 3.2.0 introduces significant technical improvements including the renaming of the XRP Ledger's core server software from 'rippled' to 'xrpld' following XLS-0095 technical proposal. The software addresses maintenance issues across multiple functions including Single Asset Vaults, Lending Protocol, Permissioned decentralized exchange, Multi-Purpose Tokens, and Permissioned Domains. According to XRPL documentation, operators moving from version 3.1.3 must update configuration files from rippled.cfg to xrpld.cfg along with related paths and deployment settings. The release also continues work to divide the libxrpl codebase into smaller modules for easier future development.
The XRP Ledger continues to support new payment applications, with Ripple-backed t54.ai reporting that XRPL has processed more than 1 million AI-driven payments through the x402 protocol. The company has launched an AI Hub for agents, developers and payment services, developed with support from Ripple developers and the XRP Ledger Foundation. The hub collects AI projects, autonomous agents, developer tools, payment services and technical resources in one place for teams building XRPL applications. Validator Vet has urged node operators to update their software before the July 29 activation to ensure compatibility with the amended protocol, as unsupported versions can become amendment-blocked once new rules take effect.
