XRP Ledger has entered the final two-week activation countdown for its fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment after securing 82.86% validator support, significantly exceeding the network's required 80% approval threshold. According to XRP Ledger governance data, the bundled maintenance amendment currently has 82.86% validator support, with 29 validators voting in favor and 6 against. Under the network's governance rules, an amendment must maintain at least 80% support for two consecutive weeks before it can be activated on the mainnet. If support drops below that level during the countdown, the activation timer resets. XRPL validator Vet shared the update on X, noting that fixCleanup3_2_0 is now in its two-week activation window.
With the voting threshold now secured, the amendment has entered its activation phase and is currently scheduled to go live on July 29, 2026, at 09:57 UTC, provided validator backing remains above the required level throughout the waiting period. The amendment, which was introduced at the same time as XRPL v3.2.0, still shows up as not enabled even though it has been approved by the voting process. Node operators will need to update their software before the amendment becomes active to ensure compatibility with the protocol changes. Successful activation is subject to the 80% validator support threshold being met throughout the entire two-week period. The upgrade combines multiple protocol fixes for lending, permissioned domains, and the Permissioned DEX, addressing precision, rounding, and ledger invariants.
Unlike feature-focused upgrades, fixCleanup3_2_0 combines several maintenance fixes into a single amendment to enhance the reliability of features already present in version 3.2.0. The package addresses precision and rounding issues affecting Single Asset Vaults and the Lending Protocol while also correcting behavior in Permissioned Domains and the Permissioned DEX introduced alongside XRPL v3.2.0. Additional protocol changes validate non-canonical Multi-Purpose Token (MPT) amounts, introduce zero DomainID verification for permissioned domains, and correct an invariant governing valid Permissioned DEX offer deletions. The amendment also adds another ledger invariant designed to prevent account deletions from leaving directly accessible artifacts behind. This bundled approach means that the XRP Ledger can implement multiple maintenance fixes in a single amendment, minimizing the number of votes required for governance.
XRP has experienced significant price movement this week, pushing to $1.12 after a softer-than-expected US producer price report triggered a wave of short covering. According to recent market data, short liquidations outpaced longs by 331%, snapping a bearish stretch that had held the token down for months. The token was last up 1.89% on the day, fitting a familiar pattern where macro data undercuts the case for higher rates, forcing leveraged bearish positions to squeeze. XRP has been trading between roughly $1.01 and $1.17, with buyers stepping in on dips but unable to hold ground on the way up. The recent activity comes as XRP Ledger continues to advance routine protocol improvements while major institutional backers like SBI expand their XRP-focused infrastructure in Japan.
