The AI-related developments follow Ripple's earlier rollout of the XRP Ledger AI Starter Kit, which introduced tools allowing AI agents to send and receive payments using XRP and RLUSD. According to the XRP Ledger Foundation, this release also added support for XRPL within the x402 protocol, enabling automated machine-to-machine payments on the network. The foundation described the XRP Ledger as offering fast, low-cost, and predictable settlement capabilities through short settlement times and fixed-style transaction costs that help software agents operate without manual approval loops.
