According to Uniswap Labs' announcement on September 10, the company has launched StablePair Hook with two Ethereum pools - USDC/USDT and USDC/USDG - using dynamic fees and Dutch auctions to help stablecoin liquidity providers retain trading value. The hook calculates liquidity provider fees from price distance and each swap's trading direction automatically, with corrective swaps outside the configured band facing fees that decline with every new block thereafter. The mechanism gives liquidity providers a larger share of value generated when traders correct price differences, though results still depend on trading activity, liquidity depth, asset prices and approved parameters. OpenZeppelin reviewed the core mechanism from February 9-13 and identified one high-severity issue involving corrective swaps, which Uniswap addressed by caching the pool price once per block to remove the fee advantage from splitting transactions.
According to Token Terminal's latest market snapshot, Uniswap V4 has emerged as the dominant force in tokenized stock DeFi with $59.1 million in deposits as of September 6, capturing approximately 31% of the total market share. The platform's leadership is particularly notable given that tokenized stock deposits primarily represent liquidity pool participation rather than lending activity. Kamino Lend secured the second position with $41.7 million in deposits, while Uniswap V3 followed with $20.9 million. Together, these three platforms controlled approximately 63% of the category's total value locked, with liquidity already shifting toward newer infrastructure as evidenced by the growing gap between V4 and V3 performance.
The broader tokenized stock DeFi market reached approximately $192.6 million in total value locked, as reported by Token Terminal. Solana hosted the largest blockchain total with $79.1 million in deposited tokenized stocks, while Robinhood-issued stocks contributed $73.1 million and xStocks supplied $63.9 million across all DeFi venues. The remaining applications collectively held approximately $70.9 million in tokenized stock deposits, indicating significant concentration among the leading platforms. With sector TVL up 2,218.8%, further inflows into V4 could reinforce its liquidity advantage and strengthen its position as tokenized-stock trading expands.
Growing usage of Uniswap V4 is translating directly into improved economics for the protocol, with daily revenue recently surging toward $600,000 and pushing the annualized run rate near $220 million. Uniswap V3 reportedly supports daily burns of roughly $598,000, while V4 already generates over $10 million in daily fees, creating a significant revenue gap that could accelerate UNI removals. The fee switch mechanism is expected to extend to V4, potentially accelerating UNI burns as activity on the protocol continues to expand. This revenue growth directly strengthens UNI's economics and provides more capital for UNI burns when the fee swap occurs, reducing supply as activity on the protocol continues to expand.
Large holders are beginning to position around UNI's improving supply narrative, with BitMEX cofounder Arthur Hayes receiving 244,406 UNI worth $1.73 million through Flowdesk, materially expanding his exposure while using an over-the-counter route to limit immediate market disruption. Fresh wallets added another $2.9 million, while exchange balances fell by more than 350,000 UNI, pointing toward net absorption rather than distribution. Hayes also transferred $250,000 USDC to FalconX, leaving additional purchasing capacity for future purchases. These movements, combined with sustained growth in tokenized-stock activity, could tighten liquid supply as protocol burns remove UNI from circulation. Recent data shows Hayes made additional purchases totaling $2 million over two days, with his current stake valued at $2.8 million according to Etherscan, demonstrating continued institutional confidence in the protocol's growth trajectory.
UNI is currently trading near $7.18, representing a 2.55% increase over 24 hours, with the token's market value sitting at approximately $4.47 billion, ranking it as the 22nd largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. The token has gained 76.8% in the past month, primarily driven by Robinhood Chain which contributed 66% of Uniswap's earnings across 47 chains according to recent fee breakdowns. However, UNI remains 84% below its record high of $44.92 set in May 2021, indicating significant room for growth as the tokenized stock DeFi sector continues expanding. The token's price declined from its recent $7.48 peak toward the $6.02 area despite whale accumulation, with the correction bringing the 0.382 Fibonacci retracement at $5.836 into focus. A successful hold of the $4.711–$4.819 golden zone would strengthen recovery attempts toward $7.48, while losing this level would weaken the technical outlook.
