According to reports from AMBCrypto, Uniswap's weekly swaps surged 86% to 40 million as more users entered the protocol. The milestone surpassed Uniswap's previous record, established one week earlier, demonstrating increasing demand for the platform's infrastructure rather than an isolated burst of trading activity. Unique Daily Swappers reached approximately 147,000, indicating broader participation accompanied the rising transaction numbers. While V3 still processes most swaps, V4's growing contribution suggests users are adopting newer infrastructure.
As reported by AMBCrypto, cumulative fees paid to the Uniswap protocol rose from approximately $17 million in early June to over $33 million by late August. The large increase in trading volume led to more trades and higher associated fees, showing users have taken advantage of increased usage by strengthening the protocol's economic model. However, fees increased more steadily than the 86% weekly explosion in swaps, indicating significant development within the underlying activity structure.
The Umia protocol has launched as a comprehensive onchain venture platform built on Uniswap v4 infrastructure. According to the project's documentation, Umia operates as a full-stack system integrating legal entity, auction mechanisms, liquidity provision, treasury management, and governance into a single integrated platform. The protocol conducted a public testnet on Base Sepolia from July 30 to August 11, 2026, with full launch and governance functionality running end-to-end. Umia token (UMIA) serves as an ERC-20 token on Base with a total supply of 50 million tokens, with 24.3 million UMIA entering circulation during the token generation event.
Activity across Ethereum [ETH], Base, Arbitrum [ARB], and newer deployments indicates that Uniswap's usage is becoming less dependent on a single network. This diversification strategy reduces concentration risk and expands the protocol's reach across multiple blockchain ecosystems, potentially driving sustained growth and user adoption. The launch of Umia further demonstrates the growing adoption of Uniswap v4 across various EVM chains.
