Strive Asset Management has achieved a remarkable transformation in Bitcoin accumulation, adding 789 BTC to reach a total of 14,557 BTC and securing its position as the 9th-largest public Bitcoin treasury globally. According to reports from Cointelegraph and BTCtreasuries, this rapid scaling represents a dramatic shift from zero Bitcoin holdings in late 2025 to a billion-dollar balance sheet within months. The Nasdaq-listed asset manager, which describes itself as a Bitcoin treasury asset management firm, now joins the ranks of established miners and software firms that have spent years converting their treasuries into digital assets.
Strive's aggressive Bitcoin accumulation strategy has been funded through innovative financing mechanisms and strategic debt management. As reported by Cointelegraph, the company disclosed in January that it acquired 333.89 BTC at an average price of approximately $89,851, bringing its total holdings to 13,131.82 BTC. The firm financed this acquisition through a $225 million preferred equity raise and used proceeds to pay down debt tied to its acquisition of medical-tech firm Semler Scientific. Chief Investment Officer Ben Werkman emphasized that "in just over four months, Strive has scaled from zero bitcoin to become a top-10 publicly traded holder," highlighting the unprecedented pace of this transformation.
According to BitcoinTreasuries data, public companies collectively hold more than 1.18 million BTC, with Strategy, Twenty One Capital, and several miners still ahead of Strive on absolute balances. However, Strive's unique positioning as an asset manager with a "hurdle rate" measured in BTC per share effectively treats Bitcoin as both reserve asset and performance benchmark. As reported by Intellectia.ai, with approximately $143.4 million in cash and equivalents plus digital assets, the company can cover "over 19 years of SATA interest payments," providing substantial room for continued Bitcoin accumulation.
Strive's rapid ascent is intensifying broader debate about public-company treasury strategies and the emerging "race to accumulate" among non-crypto-native corporates. Unlike pure-play crypto firms, Strive's hybrid profile as both asset manager and balance-sheet accumulator represents a new approach to corporate Bitcoin adoption. With public treasuries already sitting on more than $9 billion worth of BTC and new entrants like Strive climbing the rankings, the strategy is no longer limited to miners and software vendors, but increasingly involves financial firms whose core business lies outside of Bitcoin itself.
