According to an August 12 press release from Morph, the company has launched a non-custodial payments platform that supports USDC and USDT stablecoins. The service allows businesses to connect their own self-custodial wallets rather than requiring fund deposits with Morph. When customers complete payments, the stablecoins move directly to the recipient's selected wallet, with businesses retaining control of their private wallets and the stablecoins becoming available once blockchain confirmation is complete. As reported by CoinMarketCap, the platform targets online businesses, freelancers and distributed organizations that want to accept, send and track stablecoin payments without giving Morph control over the receiving wallet. Unlike conventional custodial payment solutions, this product allows users to connect their own wallets, so that after customers make payments, funds are settled directly on-chain into the recipient's controlled wallet.
As reported by Morph, the platform includes invoices, payment links, and a transaction dashboard for businesses, freelancers, and distributed organizations. The service enables users to create invoices or payment links that direct customers to checkout pages, with completed transactions appearing in a single dashboard. For freelancers, payment requests can be sent as invoices or links directly to clients, while online businesses can collect USDC or USDT without giving Morph control over the receiving wallet. The company primarily provides the payment interface and does not hold merchants' funds or require merchants to deposit stablecoins into a platform account first. This means that the recipient can access the funds immediately after the blockchain confirms the transaction, rather than waiting for the payment processor to transfer the balance later. The platform is designed for cross-border payments and remote work scenarios, with Morph claiming payments can arrive within minutes and provide faster access to working capital. According to CoinMarketCap, the platform offers direct on-chain settlement to self-custodial wallets, invoice and payment-link creation, and a unified dashboard to view incoming and outgoing payments, invoices and checkout links.
According to Morph, Visa data cited by the company shows $10.2 trillion in adjusted stablecoin transaction volume over the previous 12 months, representing a 65% increase from the comparable period. Separate research by Morph published in April estimated that stablecoins handled $33 trillion in total on-chain volume during 2025, with the company projecting more than $50 trillion in settlement volume during 2026. The platform is available for businesses to begin registering through Morph's website as of August 12. As reported by CoinMarketCap, Morph's own April research estimated $33 trillion of total on-chain stablecoin volume in 2025 and projected more than $50 trillion in settlement volume for 2026 - figures the company notes are estimates rather than audited results. However, the announcement includes no independent test data or customer case studies to support these claims.
As reported by crypto.news, Morph's launch follows similar stablecoin payment tools from other providers, including Ramp's stablecoin business accounts on Solana launched in July, which allow USDC and USDT holdings and payments to vendors in more than 140 countries. The GENIUS Act, signed into law on July 18, 2025, establishes federal requirements for payment stablecoin issuers, with restrictions on offering payment stablecoins from non-permitted issuers beginning July 2028. However, federal regulators missed a July deadline for completing several required rules under the GENIUS Act, with the statute scheduled to take effect by January 18, 2027. According to crypto.news, other providers have been expanding stablecoin offerings for businesses, with Ramp launching stablecoin business accounts on Solana that let customers hold USDC and USDT and pay vendors across more than 140 countries, with conversion into over 40 local currencies and integrations with Ramp's approval and accounting tools. Morph is now supporting USDC and USDT, issued by Circle and Tether respectively, but has not specified whether this service is available in all U.S. states or disclosed the licenses and compliance procedures applicable to U.S. customers.
