BNK Investment & Securities has entered into a strategic agreement with cultural-finance fintech EverTreasure to develop fractional investment and tokenized securities products tied to films, performances, musicals and artworks. According to reports from Yonhap News Agency, the partnership was formalized through a memorandum of understanding covering the development, issuance and distribution of investment products backed by cultural content. The agreement divides responsibilities between the brokerage and EverTreasure, with BNK handling securities issuance arrangements, distribution, investor recruitment and regulatory advice, while EverTreasure will source assets and provide blockchain and platform infrastructure. The strategic logic lies in combining BNK's regulatory expertise, distribution network, and capital markets infrastructure with EverTreasure's specialized knowledge of cultural assets and tokenization technology.
The partnership focuses on four specific asset categories: films, performances, musicals, and artworks, with EverTreasure responsible for sourcing competitive assets that could form the basis of fractional or tokenized investment products. As reported by Yonhap News Agency, the companies plan to work together on asset due diligence, product structures, platform listings and marketing to institutional investors and high net worth clients. EverTreasure will leverage its experience from the YEATU fractional investment platform, which has handled more than 260 million won in investments as of December 31, 2025, with more than 10,000 members and 6,000 global investors registered on the platform. The partnership includes overseas expansion plans using international entities and networks to pursue opportunities outside South Korea.
The partnership comes as South Korea prepares to introduce its formal tokenized securities framework in February 2027. According to Yonhap News Agency, the National Assembly passed amendments to the Electronic Securities Act and Capital Markets Act in January 2026, creating the legal basis for securities ownership and issuance information to be recorded through distributed ledger technology. The Financial Services Commission released a three-stage roadmap in September, with existing licensed financial companies able to handle tokenized securities within their scope. The first phase will cover selected privately placed money market funds and bonds, unlisted stocks issued through trust structures and publicly offered fractional investment securities, with the planned scope later extending to other publicly offered securities.
Securities firms have been actively preparing their systems and partnerships ahead of the regulatory framework. As reported by Yonhap News Agency, Hanwha Investment & Securities recently completed a tokenized securities platform supporting Avalanche and Hyperledger Besu, with development beginning in 2025. BNK Investment & Securities has taken a partnership-led approach, signing an agreement with Koscom in 2024 to cooperate on tokenized-securities platform development, joining brokerages including Kiwoom Securities, Daishin Securities, IBK Investment & Securities and Yuanta Securities that entered similar arrangements with the financial technology company. BNK Investment & Securities operates as a full-service securities firm within the BNK Financial Group, providing brokerage, wealth management, and investment banking services to institutional and retail clients across the country.
BNK Investment & Securities CEO Shin Myung-ho described the agreement as a starting point for connecting the value of different types of cultural content with financial products. According to Yonhap News Agency, the brokerage plans to continue finding tokenized securities opportunities backed by competitive real-world assets and gradually expand the financial products and services it offers in the sector. Neither BNK Investment & Securities nor EverTreasure has announced a specific product launch date or identified which cultural assets will be tokenized first. The companies are expected to conduct feasibility studies and product structuring work in the coming months, with regulatory consultation likely to follow. Market participants will be watching for the first concrete product announcement, which would clarify the minimum investment threshold, the token structure, and the secondary-market mechanism.
