Beldex, a privacy-focused blockchain ecosystem, has successfully raised $8 million in a new funding round to accelerate development of its privacy infrastructure for Web3 and AI applications. According to reports from Beldex, the funding round was led by Sigma Capital and included participation from NTC, Nxgen, Digital Consensus Fund, and EAK Ventures. The company plans to invest across developer tooling, confidential applications, protocol security, AI infrastructure and ecosystem adoption to support its next phase of growth. This latest round brings Beldex's total capital raised to $36 million, following earlier investments from DWF Labs and Block Alpha.
Beldex has built a comprehensive suite of privacy-focused products around its Layer 1 network, including the Beldex Wallet for private transactions, BChat for encrypted messaging, BelNet for decentralized private networking, Beldex Browser for private web access, and Beldex Name Service (BNS) for human-readable names across wallets, messaging and private web applications. As reported by Beldex, the next phase focuses on making these privacy capabilities easier for developers to use through the development of the Beldex Extension Wallet, SDKs, account-based addresses and other developer tools designed to simplify application interactions with the Beldex ecosystem. The new capital will enable immediate deployment of these tools to democratize access to advanced cryptographic primitives for developers globally.
A key component of the new funding will support privacy infrastructure development for AI applications as autonomous agents increasingly handle payments, credentials, communications and personal data. According to Beldex, the company is exploring privacy-preserving agent identities through BNS, encrypted AI-powered communication via BChat, confidential payments, secure AI execution, and research into Fully Homomorphic Encryption and secure memory to protect sensitive data during processing. The funding will also support confidential assets and an EVM compatible sidechain to provide developers familiar with Ethereum tooling an environment for building applications with privacy capabilities. The new infrastructure will enable developers to integrate shielded smart contracts and encrypted agent identities without sacrificing performance or usability.
The funding will support Beldex's work on interoperability and network security, including cross-chain connectivity with Binance Smart Chain and plans to expand interoperability with other blockchain ecosystems. As reported by Beldex, the company is researching a TSS and DKG based cross-chain architecture designed to distribute signing authority across multiple participants while continuing research into quantum-safe technologies for transactions and messaging as part of its longer-term security roadmap. The newly secured funds will catalyze strategic expansion of Beldex's cross-chain capabilities, establishing secure bridges to networks such as Ethereum, Solana, and Base to ensure privacy remains intact as assets move across ecosystems. The capital will also fund development of quantum-resistant messaging protocols and refinement of its VRF-based consensus mechanism to protect against future computational threats.
According to Beldex, the company will use the new funding to move several initiatives from research and development toward usable infrastructure, with near-term priorities including the Beldex Extension Wallet, SDKs, VRF consensus, account-based addresses, confidential assets and an EVM compatible sidechain testnet. The broader goal is to make privacy easier to build across transactions, communication, identity, applications and AI, with the team continuing research and development across AI privacy infrastructure, Fully Homomorphic Encryption, private smart contracts, interoperability and quantum-safe technologies. As noted by Afanddy Bin Hushni, Chairman of Beldex, the industry continues to treat privacy as a bolt-on luxury feature, but with this new capital, Beldex is building infrastructure from the ground up to ensure every byte of data is encrypted by default before hitting the network. Vineet Budki, Managing Director & CEO at Sigma Capital, emphasized that Beldex's long-term conviction in building privacy into infrastructure rather than treating it as a niche feature positions the company exceptionally well for the next era of Web3.
