Timken India Ltd has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first company in India to secure BIS licenses for cylindrical roller bearing (CRB) and tapered roller bearing (TRB) roller production across multiple manufacturing plants. The company received four BIS licenses covering cylindrical roller bearing production at its Bharuch (new) plant, CRB production at the Bharuch facility, and tapered roller bearing production at both Bharuch and Jamshedpur plants. As per CNBC TV18, this landmark achievement strengthens the company's manufacturing, quality and regulatory compliance capabilities across multiple product categories and production sites.
Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Koul emphasized the significance of this achievement, stating that "our teams have worked tirelessly to achieve this landmark recognition. Securing four BIS licences and being the first in India to obtain CRB and TRB roller licences across multiple plants underscores our commitment to the highest standards of quality, engineering and customer service." The certifications are expected to help customers source bearings that meet national standards, simplify procurement for regulated projects and improve operational reliability. As reported by CNBC TV18, BIS-certified bearings are anticipated to reduce technical qualification barriers for OEMs, infrastructure projects and other regulated sectors.
The four BIS licenses encompass multiple bearing categories and different manufacturing facilities across Timken India's operational network. The company has received BIS License for Cylindrical Roller Bearing (CRB) Roller production at its Bharuch (new) plant, as reported by Business Standard. Additionally, BIS License for TRB (Tapered Roller Bearing) Roller production has been secured at both its Bharuch (new) and Jamshedpur plant.
