Tilaknagar Industries announced a major reshuffle in its finance and audit leadership, with Rajesh Choudhary appointed as Chief Financial Officer while current CFO Abhinav Gupta moves to head internal audit operations. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, the appointments take immediate effect. Choudhary, who previously served as Senior Vice-President for Finance & Accounts, will now oversee the company's financial strategy, planning and governance.
Gupta transitions to Chief of Internal Audit, where he will manage risk assessment, internal controls and governance processes. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, he will report functionally to the Audit Committee of the Board while maintaining an administrative reporting line to the Chairman and Managing Director. This strategic move aligns with regulatory requirements under the Companies Act, which mandates audit committees to evaluate internal financial controls and risk management systems. Chairman Amit Dahanukar said the changes reflect the company's focus on strengthening financial stewardship and governance.
Choudhary brings 29 years of experience, including 22 years in the alcohol beverage industry, primarily with Pernod Ricard India. According to reports, the chartered accountant has expertise in P&L management, financial strategy and enterprise transformation. Gupta holds an MBA from IIT Delhi and has 17 years of finance experience. His transition to internal audit positions him to oversee critical governance functions including preparation of financial statements, safeguarding company assets, and prevention of fraud and irregularities.
The company also announced several redesignations across senior management. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, Minuzeer Bamboat adds Head-Legal to his Company Secretary role, Ameya Deshpande becomes Chief Strategy Officer, Nishant Jain is now Chief Sales Officer, Tarun Behl takes on manufacturing and projects responsibilities, and Sai Amrutkumar Vegisetti joins senior management as Chief Information Officer.
Tilaknagar Industries recently acquired Imperial Blue Whisky from Pernod Ricard, with the brand achieving primary sales of 1.79 million cases in December 2025, its first month under new ownership. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, this acquisition represents a significant addition to the company's portfolio and underscores the importance of robust financial controls and governance systems as the company integrates new business operations.
