Texmaco Rail & Engineering has secured a ₹27.82 crore order from Hindalco Industries Ltd for the supply of one BTAP rake along with one Brake Van for the Aditya Expansion Project. According to CNBC TV18, the order is to be executed within eight months from the date of purchase order and has been awarded by a domestic entity. Notably, the company confirmed that neither its promoter, promoter group nor group companies have any interest in Hindalco Industries in relation to this contract, ensuring it does not fall under related party transactions.
Texmaco Rail & Engineering has secured three orders worth ₹159.88 crore from major clients in the railway sector. The first order valued at ₹24.48 crore comes from Transport Corporation of India for the manufacture and supply of 1 rake of Type: ACT-1 wagon along with 1 BVCM wagon. The second, significantly larger order is valued at ₹106.88 crore from Touax Texmaco Railcar Leasing for the manufacture and supply of 4 rakes of BFNS22.9 wagons along with 4 BVCM wagons. The ₹106.88 crore order is scheduled for completion by May 2027, while the ₹24.48 crore TCI contract must be delivered within 16 weeks - demonstrating the company's ability to handle both short-term and long-term project execution.
These orders demonstrate Texmaco Rail & Engineering's continued strength in the railway wagon manufacturing sector, with the company securing significant contracts from established players in the transportation industry. The orders span different types of railway wagons, indicating the company's diversified capabilities in manufacturing various types of railway equipment. The ₹106.88 crore order adds to the company's order pipeline on an arm's length basis, supporting its strategic focus on securing high-margin domestic orders through its joint-venture relationship with Touax. As reported by CNBC TV18, Managing Director Sudipta Mukherjee confirmed that the order book has grown to more than ₹11,200 crore as of September 1, up from about ₹9,900 crore at the end of FY26, with the company expecting revenue growth of around 10 to 15% this year along with a step-up in profit margins.
The order wins demonstrate steady private sector demand for specialized freight rakes, with the Indian railway ancillary sector witnessing increased private sector procurement of wagons to meet long-term freight goals. Joint ventures and related-party leasing models are becoming key drivers of rolling stock supply chains. However, the company faces execution risks within the strict 16-week timeline for the TCI order and high client concentration, where dependence on top clients exposes the firm to order delays or cancellations. On July 2, 2026, Texmaco received a ₹26.56 crore letter of acceptance from South Central Railway for comprehensive signaling and Kavach works, bringing its Infra Rail & Green Energy outstanding order book to ₹1,159.94 crore. The company had a challenging April-June 2026 quarter with overall execution at ₹750 crore against roughly ₹900 crore in the same period last year, and revenue down 17%, though management expects real catch-up in the second part of the year.
