
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (TMPV) and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. (TPEM) announced a partnership with UCO Bank on Friday to provide inventory funding solutions to their authorised dealers. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, the two firms have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for this collaboration. The partnership aims to help dealers manage their working capital needs more efficiently, addressing a critical challenge in the automotive retail sector.
The collaboration will provide inventory financing solutions to authorized dealers under UCO Bank's Supply Chain Finance Scheme. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, the partnership will enable dealers to access working capital support through this specialized financing program. The agreement was signed by Shashi Kant Kumar, General Manager and Zonal Head, Mumbai Zone, UCO Bank, and Anindya Paul, Senior General Manager, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, in the presence of senior executives from both organizations. The arrangement is designed to improve inventory management, cash flow efficiency and business operations across Tata Motors' passenger vehicle network.
The collaboration will provide an exclusive inventory funding program for both electric and internal combustion vehicles. TMPVL Chief Financial Officer Dhiman Gupta emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership, stating that it will assist authorised dealer partners with inventory funding for both vehicle categories. The program is designed to strengthen dealers' ability to manage inventory effectively while ensuring seamless customer buying experiences.
According to UCO Bank, the partnership reinforces its strategy of delivering innovative financial solutions and deepening industry collaborations. The agreement comes as Indian banks increasingly expand supply chain financing offerings to support dealers and distributors in the fast-growing automobile sector, particularly amid rising demand for passenger and electric vehicles. The collaboration supports the growing financing requirements of Tata Motors' expanding passenger vehicle and electric mobility businesses in India, strengthening the automotive supply chain ecosystem and supporting sustainable growth across conventional and electric vehicle segments.
