Skoda Auto India reported a 7.5% year-on-year sales growth in the first half of 2026, achieving 38,894 units, marking its best ever half-yearly performance in the country. According to official corporate dispatches, this performance has surpassed the record set in the first half of 2025, demonstrating the brand's continued growth trajectory in the Indian market. The milestone is particularly significant as H1 2025 had previously represented the company's highest-ever half-yearly sales volume in its 25-year operational history in the country.
The strong sales performance was driven by demand for the new Kushaq, updated Kodiaq, and the all-new Kodiaq RS, as highlighted by Business Standard. The Kodiaq RS has achieved a remarkable milestone by selling out its entire 50-unit limited edition batch within minutes of release, despite carrying a ₹20 lakh premium over the standard Kodiaq. As per multiple reports, this performance SUV features a 265bhp 2.0 four-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 400Nm torque, making it Skoda's fastest SUV yet. The car's exclusivity and performance credentials have made it a rare sight on Indian roads, positioning it as a halo product that showcases Skoda's capability in making high-performance vehicles.
As reported by Business Standard, Gupta emphasized that the record half-yearly sales reflect the growing confidence and trust customers place in the Skoda brand. The company has strengthened this connection through a focused product offensive, customer-first initiatives, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in 2026, positioning the brand for continued growth in the competitive Indian automotive market. Looking ahead, Skoda is expected to soon introduce the facelifted Slavia to the Indian market, which will come with a fresh design and feature updates inspired by the Kushaq facelift.
Skoda Auto India has significantly expanded its retail presence, with more than 340 touchpoints across the country now available to customers. The company has also launched Skoda Express Care, aimed at improving convenience, transparency and peace of mind for owners. This expansion in retail and service presence forms part of the wider push to strengthen the ownership experience as the brand scales up in India, ensuring broad-based momentum rather than dependence on a single model.
Alongside sales growth, Skoda Auto India highlighted its motorsport heritage with a record-breaking achievement at the CoASTT track in Coimbatore. The company's full range of cars, including the Slavia Monte Carlo, Kushaq Monte Carlo, Kylaq, Kodiaq and the limited-volume Octavia RS, participated in a record attempt and earned an India and Asia Book of Records title for the fastest multi-car relay of a single manufacturer on a circuit. All five cars completed the lap in 12:30.97, with driver change-over times included, linking this achievement to the brand's 'Greatest On A Track is a Skoda On A Track' campaign.
