RailTel Corporation of India Ltd has secured a significant railway signalling contract worth ₹32.74 crore from North Central Railway. According to reports from CNBC TV18, the company received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for reliability improvement of track circuits at 14 stations in the Prayagraj Division. The order involves providing Multi Section Digital Axle Counters (MSDAC) in parallel with existing Digital Track Circuit Controllers (DCTC) and other associated works.
The railway signalling project is classified as a domestic order and is scheduled for execution by January 23, 2028. As reported by CNBC TV18, RailTel received the work order on July 23, 2026, at 1:30 PM. The order covers the ALJN-DER section of the Prayagraj Division and falls under the railway signalling category, representing a substantial addition to the company's order book.
RailTel has clarified that the contract award does not involve any related party transactions. According to the company's disclosure, there is no interest of the promoter, promoter group or group companies in the entity awarding the contract. This ensures transparency in the procurement process and eliminates potential conflicts of interest in the project execution.
Separately, RailTel is involved in a significant arbitration matter with 3i Infotech Limited related to the Wi-Fi Monetisation Project. As reported by CNBC TV18, the dispute involves a claim amount of ₹60.26 crore filed by 3i Infotech and a counterclaim of ₹91.34 crore by RailTel. The matter was reported on July 17, 2026, at 12:22 PM and relates to the termination of the contract following an open and competitive bidding process.
Despite the contract win, RailTel's shares ended at ₹289.50, down by ₹0.50 on the BSE, according to CNBC TV18. The mixed market response reflects broader market conditions and investor sentiment toward the company's performance metrics beyond individual contract announcements.
