Digital healthcare platform Practo has announced a significant leadership restructuring with Shashank ND Singh elevated to managing director and executive chairman and Jagnoor Singh appointed as CEO, effective September 1, 2026. According to reports from Business Standard, this change comes as the company experiences strong business momentum with 40% year-on-year growth and has remained profitable for the past two and a half years. The restructuring reflects Practo's transition into a new phase requiring strengthened execution across its businesses while investing deeply in healthcare innovation. As reported by Inc42, this leadership overhaul comes as the healthtech startup expands internationally and prepares for a proposed public listing, with the startup reportedly targeting a public listing in 2027.
Shashank ND Singh will continue shaping Practo's overall vision, product strategy, and long-term innovation agenda while leading capital strategy, inorganic growth, and corporate development initiatives. Singh emphasized that Practo is entering a phase requiring execution strength across businesses while investing in healthcare ideas for the next decade. Jagnoor Singh, who joined as chief operating officer in January 2025, brings two years of experience driving growth strategy, execution strengthening, and market expansion. His focus as CEO will be on scaling globally, deepening healthcare ecosystem role, and harnessing AI to strengthen products and improve healthcare outcomes. Singh joined Practo as COO in January 2025 and has since worked on its growth strategy, operational execution, and entry into new markets, before joining the company he held senior positions at Bharti Airtel, Unacademy, and OYO. As reported by Practo, Singh has brought strong operating rigour and ambition to the company and been instrumental in advancing its growth strategy.
The company has strengthened its leadership bench by elevating three long-standing leaders into expanded roles. Siddhartha Nihalani, co-founder, has taken on additional responsibility as chief operating officer - B2C, overseeing consumer businesses. Rowel Coelho, previously head of monetisation, has been appointed chief operating officer - B2B, managing enterprise and corporate businesses. Additionally, Abhinav Lal, co-founder, has been named chief scientist to lead AI exploration in healthcare, forge research partnerships, and build an innovation hub for future-ready technologies. The leadership changes come months after Shashank launched preventive healthcare startup Cent alongside former Ola CMO Anshul Khandelwal and sales executive Arpit Garg, with Cent raising $5 million in seed funding from OneFlow Holdings and South Park Commons.
Practo has demonstrated strong financial performance with the startup turning EBITDA profitable in FY25, reporting an operating EBITDA of ₹15 crore on revenue of ₹234 crore. This marked a significant turnaround from FY24, when it posted an EBITDA loss of ₹17 crore on revenue of ₹240 crore. The company is currently growing at 40% year-on-year and has raised a total funding of about $230 million to date from investors like Peak XV Partners, Sofina, Thrive Capital, and Capital G. According to company information, Practo's platform currently operates across 20+ countries, serving more than 30 crore patients and connecting them with over 1 lakh verified doctor partners. Following the expansion of its consumer platform into the UAE and United States, Practo operates a network of 700,000 doctors and healthcare providers serving millions of patients globally across over 2,400 cities. The company has launched a pilot in the US where it claims to have onboarded more than 2 lakh doctors and built an annual GMV run rate of over $75 million.
Practo has strengthened its board earlier this year with former Union health secretary CK Mishra joining as an independent director in March. The expanded leadership team will support the company's plans to scale internationally, deepen its presence across the healthcare ecosystem, and introduce more AI-led capabilities across existing products and new services. The company launched its consumer platform in the UAE in May 2025, covering Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, and entered the US in April 2025, officially launching its care-navigation platform there in January 2026. At the time of the US launch, Practo reported more than 200,000 doctors listed on its platform and had reached an annualised gross merchandise value run rate of more than $75 million. The company also reported that monthly active users in the country had crossed 300,000, and it is expanding its US team while evaluating strategic acquisitions to add independent practices, clinics, hospitals and large healthcare chains to the platform. Practo currently connects users with more than 700,000 doctors and healthcare providers globally and operates its hospital management platform Insta across 1,200 facilities.
