Oriana Power has announced a 1:5 stock split with the record date set for Friday, September 18, 2026. According to the company's NSE filing, the board of directors approved the sub-division of equity shares with a face value of ₹2 each fully paid-up, subject to shareholder approval. The proposed split means that one existing fully paid-up equity share of face value ₹10 each will be credited as five fully paid-up equity shares of face value ₹2 each after the stock split. As per The Economic Times, this represents a strategic move to boost investor share count following the company's recent downturn.
Today marks the last trading day for investors to purchase Oriana Power shares before the stock split goes ex-record date. According to The Economic Times, investors must buy shares by Thursday to ensure eligibility for the corporate action, as per SEBI's T+1 settlement cycle. Oriana Power's stock closed 3.54% higher at ₹1,270.75 on Tuesday, September 15, ahead of the record date. The stock had touched an intraday high of ₹1,305 and an intraday low of ₹1,230 during the trading session. The renewable energy company maintains a market capitalisation of ₹2,582.06 crore with the stock delivering 4.31% returns in one week. However, the stock has declined 43.56% in 2026 so far and 49% over the past year, while showing a 255.77% surge over three years.
As reported by the company, the board has fixed Friday, September 18, 2026 as the record date for determining shareholder eligibility for the stock split. Investors must own the stock before this date to be eligible for the payout. The record date establishes the cut-off point for determining which shareholders will receive the additional shares following the corporate action. According to The Economic Times, this means that any shares purchased today or after the record date will not be eligible for the stock split benefits.
