NBCC (India) Ltd has secured ₹131.02 crore worth of work orders for projects in Andhra Pradesh and New Delhi, according to an exchange filing. The state-run company received a project management consultancy (PMC) contract worth ₹25.52 crore, excluding GST, from Central Bank of India for constructing the bank's office building in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. In a separate order, NBCC was awarded a contract worth ₹105.50 crore, excluding GST and PMC charges, from the Resident Commissioner, Government of Andhra Pradesh, for constructing the new Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi. These contracts add to NBCC's robust order book, which stood at approximately ₹73,000 crore as of Q3 FY24, as reported by latest market data.
Shares of NBCC (India) Ltd ended higher on Wednesday, May 13, by 2.74% at ₹95.20 on the NSE following the contract announcements. Both contracts have been awarded by domestic entities and do not fall under related party transactions, as reported by CNBC TV18. The continuous addition of new projects to NBCC's backlog is expected to enhance shareholder confidence, with the strengthened order book offering a stable foundation and acting as a buffer against short-term market volatility.
NBCC had reported mixed performance for the December quarter, with higher profit and revenue growth offset by weaker operating margins. The company's consolidated net profit for Q3FY26 rose 39.3% year-on-year to ₹193 crore, while revenue from operations increased 7.6% to ₹3,022 crore. However, operating performance remained under pressure as EBITDA fell 21% YoY to ₹114.5 crore, leading to a contraction in EBITDA margin to 3.8% from 5.2% a year earlier. The company projects revenue growth at 10-15% year-over-year for FY23-FY25 on a consolidated basis.
The Amaravati project involves the construction of Central Bank of India's office building, while the New Delhi project pertains to the construction of the new Andhra Pradesh Bhavan. These contracts are vital for NBCC, directly expanding its order book and providing clear visibility for future revenue streams. NBCC is well-positioned to leverage its existing construction capabilities and infrastructure to efficiently execute these new projects. The projects were awarded by the Central Bank of India and the Resident Commissioner of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, respectively, with both projects falling under the company's core operations of providing Project Management Consultancy services. These wins reflect NBCC's sustained ability to secure high-value institutional business within the ordinary course of its operations.
