Interarch Building Solutions Ltd has commenced commercial production at its Andhra Pradesh Unit 2, Phase 1 plant, marking a significant milestone in the company's expansion strategy. According to CNBC TV18, the company has raised its sales guidance for FY28 to ₹2,700 crore, up from an earlier target of ₹2,200 crore for FY27. The facility is built to produce high-rise buildings, data centers and heavier structures for industrial and process plants, a category Interarch has served for years but had not previously had a dedicated plant for. Arvind Nanda, Managing Director, emphasized that demand for steel in these categories is rising quickly, with the company already having data center projects underway in Mumbai and Delhi, a 16-storey hotel building in Noida, and an order for the Central Secretariat building complex on Rajpath in Delhi.
The company is expanding capacity at pace with Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the Andhra Pradesh unit due to finish by the end of next calendar year, and Phase 2 of its Gujarat plant coming online this year. As reported by CNBC TV18, Interarch reported an outstanding order book of ₹1,850 crore as of August 1, with an addition of about ₹650 crore during the quarter. Nanda said most pre-engineered building orders are delivered within four to nine months, with some running up to 12 months, which limits how far ahead the company can book work. "I think today we are booked up for nearly the next nine to 10 months," he stated. The company's order intake is not a constraint at present, with Nanda noting that "getting an order is not a problem" due to the company's client relationships and project track record.
The facility will cater to applications across high-rise buildings, data centres, semiconductor and electronics facilities, renewable energy projects, electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure and large industrial developments. According to CNBC TV18, the company serves clients including Micron, Tata Electronics, Exide Battery and Agratas, who are looking for a design-to-execution partner rather than a steel supplier alone. Nanda highlighted that these kinds of orders are bigger orders, with the buildings far more complex to design, engineer, and produce and erect, invariably earning a higher margin. The shift toward larger, more technically demanding projects is expected to support margins significantly, as these projects require greater engineering sophistication and precision fabrication capabilities.
The facility involved an investment of approximately ₹32 crore, making Attivaram an increasingly important manufacturing hub for Interarch's steel construction operations. As reported by CNBC TV18, the new facility marks an expansion of its manufacturing capabilities into heavy structural steel and complex steel structures, complementing the company's existing manufacturing ecosystem. The company's strategic focus on pre-engineered building industry segmentation by project size and client type over the past one to two years means added capacity across the industry has not translated into overcapacity in Interarch's specific segment. This segmentation, combined with a shift away from fabricated buildings toward pre-engineered structures, positions the company favorably in the current market dynamics.
Arvind Nanda, Managing Director, stated that the inauguration marks a significant milestone in Interarch's evolution as a comprehensive steel construction solutions provider. According to CNBC TV18, he emphasized that India is entering a phase of accelerated industrial and infrastructure development, creating demand for steel structures that are larger, more sophisticated and engineered for greater performance. Gautam Suri, Whole-Time Director, highlighted that Attivaram represents a significant advancement in heavy structural steel manufacturing capabilities, bringing together advanced machinery and precision fabrication processes, with the objective of delivering consistent quality at scale and meeting demanding specifications of modern construction.
