
Hindalco Industries Ltd has appointed Kapil Agrawal as CEO (Designate) – Copper with effect from November 1, 2026, following the recommendation of the nomination and remuneration committee and approval by the board of directors. According to reports from CNBC TV18, Agrawal will also be designated as a Senior Management Personnel (SMP) from the same date. The current CEO – Copper Rohit Pathak will complete his tenure on March 1, 2027, with Agrawal taking over from that date.
As reported by CNBC TV18, Agrawal has been associated with the Aditya Birla Group for more than three decades and has held leadership positions across its textiles, fashion and retail businesses. His extensive experience spans operations, strategy, supply chain, buying and merchandising, as well as broader business leadership roles. He previously served as CEO of the Overseas Spinning Business before assuming full P&L responsibility for the Textiles Business in 2023.
According to CNBC TV18, shares of Hindalco Industries closed at ₹1,012, up 0.41%, on June 18. The positive market reaction suggests investor confidence in the leadership transition and the company's strategic direction for its copper business operations.
As reported by CNBC TV18, Pathak, who is currently CEO – Copper and an SMP of the company, will move to a different role within the Aditya Birla Group. He will cease to be an SMP at the close of business on February 28, 2027, marking the completion of the current leadership transition timeline.
