
Hindustan Copper advanced 2.52% to ₹519.10 following the announcement of a new leadership appointment. According to reports from Business Standard, the stock movement reflects positive investor sentiment regarding the company's leadership transition.
The company has appointed Anupam Misra as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) effective from 1 July 2026, or thereafter. As reported by Business Standard, Misra currently serves as Director (Marketing) at Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT Ltd). His tenure will continue until his superannuation on 28 February 2030, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Hindustan Copper is a central public sector undertaking under the administrative control of Ministry of Mines, Government of India. According to the report, the company's principal activities include exploration, exploitation, mining of copper and copper ore including beneficiation of minerals, smelting and refining. As of 31 March 2026, the Government of India held 66.14% in the company.
The company demonstrated strong financial performance in Q4 FY26, reporting a 134.36% increase in consolidated net profit to ₹444.06 crore compared to ₹189.48 crore in Q4 FY25. As reported by Business Standard, revenue from operations for the period under review were ₹1,156.08 crore, up 58.06% YoY.
