Electric mobility brand VIDA, powered by Hero MotoCorp, has announced its global debut into Nepal on Monday, marking the brand's first international market entry and the beginning of its global operations. According to latest reports, this strategic expansion comes after VIDA recorded healthy demand in India with 1,02,097 electric scooters sold between January and June 2026. The company has joined hands with CG Motors, a part of Nepal's Chaudhary Group, to handle sales and distribution in the new market. Kausalya Nandakumar, Chief Business Officer, Emerging Mobility Business Unit, Hero MotoCorp, stated that the company is thrilled to take the very best of their engineering and design capabilities beyond India, starting with Nepal, a strategically crucial market where riders are quickly adopting smart electric mobility.
The company is introducing two product categories to match local lifestyle requirements. These include the VIDA VX2 EVOOTER portfolio for commuters and the VIDA DIRT.E K3 all-electric off-roader designed specifically for younger riders. The VX2 EVOOTER portfolio features two variants in the Nepalese market: the VX2 Plus and the VX2 Go. According to Hero MotoCorp, the VIDA VX2 EVOOTER range and the VIDA DIRT.E K3 are built to redefine the future of mobility, and through their collaboration with CG Motors, they are ensuring that Nepalese customers have access to premium, reliable, and technologically advanced riding experience. Notably, the VX2 range has already been recognised by JD Power, which ranked it highest in the 'Two-Wheeler Initial Quality Study', highlighting the product's quality and reliability as it moves into new markets. The rollout aims to redefine Nepal's two-wheeler landscape with performance-focused specifications, removable batteries, fast charging and connected features, supporting the nation's broader transition toward sustainable, green mobility.
The VIDA VX2 Go is priced at NPR 2,99,900 (approximately ₹1.86 lakh) and runs on a single removable 2.2 kWh battery, delivering a real-world range of 75 km, top speed of 70 km/h, and 0-40 km/h acceleration time of 4.2 seconds. The VIDA VX2 Plus costs NPR 3,99,900 (approximately ₹2.48 lakh) and uses two removable 2.2 kWh batteries for a combined 4.4 kWh capacity, offering real-world range of 140 km, top speed of 90 km/h, and 0-40 km/h acceleration time of 3.1 seconds. Both scooters support DC fast charging from 0 to 80 percent in around 65 minutes and feature removable batteries that can be charged on a standard 5A home socket. The VIDA DIRT.E K3 is priced at NPR 1,99,900 (approximately ₹1.24 lakh) and is designed for riders aged 4 to 10, adjusting across small, medium and large sizes as children grow. It runs on a 350W motor and 360Wh removable battery, providing up to three hours of riding time depending on terrain and mode, with 20-80 percent charge taking about two hours. Both VX2 models connect to the My VIDA app, offering navigation, geo-fencing, over-the-air updates, smartphone pairing, and call and SMS alerts, while parents can control the bike through an app, capping acceleration and locking it to one of three speed modes: 8-9 km/h, 17-18 km/h, or 23-24 km/h.
According to Hero MotoCorp, this launch marks a proud and defining moment as VIDA goes global, starting with Nepal, a strategically crucial market where riders are quickly adopting smart electric mobility. Nirvana Chaudhary, Managing Director, Chaudhary Group, Nepal, noted that the entry of VIDA perfectly aligns with Nepal's shift towards sustainable mobility, offering advanced electric products tailored for both everyday commuters and the next generation of riders to redefine the two-wheeler landscape. As reported by Hero MotoCorp, CG Motors is proud to strengthen its partnership with Hero MotoCorp and partner with VIDA to drive the nation's green transition forward. The collaboration ensures that Nepalese customers have access to premium, reliable, and technologically advanced riding experience through the distributor partnership structure. The launch puts VIDA up against established players in Nepal's electric scooter market, including the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak Electric, and Ather Rizta, all of which have built a following among city commuters in recent years.
The launch gives Hero MotoCorp a new base outside India while also putting its electric brand in front of Nepalese customers for the first time. According to Hero MotoCorp, the company sees the new VIDA range as the start of a new phase in its long-term growth in Nepal. CG Motors is part of Chaudhary Group, one of Nepal's best-known business groups, which operates more than 160 companies and 123 brands worldwide, underlining the scale of the partner chosen for VIDA's overseas entry. The move brings VIDA's electric two-wheeler range into a market that is increasingly shifting towards cleaner transport, positioning the brand to capitalize on Nepal's growing adoption of sustainable mobility solutions. Hero MotoCorp continues to lead the Indian two-wheeler market with 5,02,890 domestic sales in June 2026, but exports tell a different story with the company shipping 38,269 units in June, much lower than competitors like Bajaj, TVS and Honda. This makes overseas growth an important area for the company, with selling VIDA models in Nepal giving Hero another opportunity to grow its electric business outside India and reach more customers in nearby markets.
