
GR Infraprojects Ltd. shares jumped more than 6% on Monday, June 15, following the company's receipt of the appointed date for a significant railway infrastructure project. According to an exchange filing, West Central Railway declared June 15, 2026, as the appointed date for the project involving construction of a new railway line between Bahari and Gondawali stations in Madhya Pradesh. The project has a contract value of ₹1,897.51 crore, including GST, and will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode. As per latest reports, shares touched an intraday high of ₹913 on Monday, with the stock trading at ₹888.40 at 2:05 PM on the National Stock Exchange, gaining 3.57%.
The scope of work encompasses construction of a new railway line from Km 124.400 to Km 165.380 as part of the Sidhi-Singrauli New Rail Link Project in Madhya Pradesh. The project involves comprehensive infrastructure including earthwork, minor and major bridges, important bridges, viaducts, road-over-bridges (ROBs), road-under-bridges (RUBs), limited-height subways, station buildings, tunnels, track work and other associated infrastructure. Under the contract, GR Infraproject will be responsible for earthwork, minor bridges, major bridges, important bridges, viaducts, ROBs (RCC Box Type), RUBs/LHSs, station buildings, tunnels, track work and other miscellaneous works in connection with the Sidhi-Singrauli new rail link project. The project is scheduled to be completed within 900 days from the appointed date.
The declaration of the appointed date allows GR Infraprojects to commence execution of the project and begin recognising revenue in line with the project's progress. According to CNBC TV18, shares of GR Infraprojects are trading 3.9% higher on Monday after the post-contract spike, currently trading at ₹889.4. However, the stock remains down 11% so far this year. GR Infraprojects is engaged in the construction and development of road, railway and power transmission infrastructure projects across India. The company had previously secured another order from Madhya Pradesh in February this year, receiving a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from West Central Railway for an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project worth ₹1,897.51 crore.
From the beginning of the year, GR Infraprojects shares have tumbled 11%, with the stock hitting a 52-week low of ₹785 on March 30, 2026, and reaching a one-year high of ₹1,427.60 on June 11, 2025. For a month's time, shares have lost 5%, while they have fallen 14% in the past six months. The company has a total market capitalisation of ₹8,608.30 crore as of June 15, 2026, according to data on the NSE.
