Financial services firm Bajaj Capital announced the appointment of Jai Bajaj as Managing Director and CEO, effective April 1. According to reports from The Economic Times and CNBC TV18, this leadership transition marks a significant milestone for the company as it builds on its more than 60 years of legacy of trust while accelerating its transformation into a technology-enabled, insight-driven financial advisory organisation. The appointment sees Jai Bajaj succeeding Rajiv Bajaj, who has led the organisation for several years. As reported by CNBC TV18, the transition comes at a time when India's financial services landscape is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by increasing financial awareness, changing customer expectations, and deeper digital adoption that continues to reshape how individuals and families approach financial planning.
Bajaj outlined the company's new approach to financial planning, stating that financial planning today is no longer simply about managing money or products; it is about understanding people's life journeys and helping them achieve their most important milestones with confidence and clarity. As reported by The Economic Times, the company's vision is to become a lifelong partner supporting customers through every stage of their journey. Bajaj emphasized that the next phase of Bajaj Capital's journey focuses on combining decades of trust, human expertise, technology, data, and AI to create more personalized and meaningful experiences for customers. Under Jai Bajaj's leadership, the company is advancing a life-stage-led advisory model designed to support customers across key milestones including wealth creation, financial protection, retirement readiness, income planning and legacy building. The company stated that the leadership change comes at a time when India's wealth management and retail investment sectors are witnessing increased participation from individual investors and growing adoption of digital financial platforms.
According to the company statement reported by The Economic Times, Bajaj Capital will introduce newer digital initiatives focused on financial readiness, personalised retirement planning, and intelligent customer experiences. The company has strengthened its technology leadership with key appointments including Krishna Giri as Head of Wealth Products and Vishvender Singh as Chief Marketing Officer. Singh brings nearly 12 years of experience in wealth management, fintech, and building digital financial platforms to lead brand transformation, digital growth, customer acquisition, and next-generation customer engagement initiatives. Additionally, Gaurav Gupta has joined as Head of Data Science to contribute to the company's focus on personalized customer experiences. The company is investing in digital platforms, customer experience capabilities and AI-powered intelligence to better understand customer behaviour, generate personalised insights and deliver advisory solutions at scale, while maintaining focus on strengthening advisor capabilities through technology rather than replacing human expertise. Prior to taking over the new role, Jai Bajaj was associated with the company in various strategic and operational capacities.
Bajaj emphasized the company's evolution from traditional financial management to a holistic focus on financial security, health, wellness, and longevity. As reported by The Economic Times, this approach builds on the pioneering legacy of K.K. Bajaj, who brought financial planning to Indian families when the concept was still emerging, and Rajiv Bajaj, who built on this foundation to take Bajaj Capital beyond financial well-being towards a more comprehensive approach. The company aims to integrate technology, data, and AI to create more personalized and meaningful customer experiences while maintaining its commitment to building strong, lasting relationships with clients. Bajaj Capital plans to introduce new digital initiatives centred on financial readiness, personalised retirement planning and intelligent customer experiences over the coming months, as it seeks to deepen customer relationships and strengthen its position as a long-term financial partner across life stages. The company stated that it plans to continue expanding its product offerings and customer reach under the new leadership structure.
