Construction engineering company Ashoka Buildcon Ltd has entered into a settlement agreement with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to resolve proceedings arising from a show-cause notice issued on November 26, 2025. According to reports from CNBC TV18, the settlement follows the company's earlier disclosures made on November 27, 2025, and December 12, 2025. Under the terms of the agreement, NHAI has agreed to close the proceedings with no further action against the company and will withdraw the suspension. The authority has also confirmed that no debarment action will be taken against Ashoka Buildcon.
As part of the settlement agreement, Ashoka Buildcon has agreed to pay ₹1.04 crore to NHAI. According to the company's stock exchange filing reported by CNBC TV18, the amount was deposited with NHAI on July 9, 2026. The settlement brings to a close all proceedings related to the show-cause notice issued by NHAI, providing final resolution to the matter.
Last month, Ashoka Buildcon received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the Central Housing and Planning Authority of Guyana for the construction of a four-lane highway project worth GYD 7.46 billion (about $35.42 million). As reported by CNBC TV18, the project involves the construction of a four-lane highway from Versailles, West Bank Demerara to Parika, East Bank Essequibo (Region No. 3) – Lot 8. The contract, awarded by an overseas entity, will be executed over a period of 20 months on an item-rate basis.
Shares of Ashoka Buildcon Ltd ended at ₹131.15, up by ₹4.15, or 3.27% on the BSE on Friday, according to CNBC TV18 reports. The positive market response reflects investor confidence in the resolution of the NHAI matter and the company's continued business expansion through international contracts.
