Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited (ABD) announced that its flagship brand ICONiQ White International Grain Whisky has crossed 10 million cases in FY26, marking what the company claims is the world's fastest growing millionaire spirits brand for the second consecutive year. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, this milestone was achieved just 43 months after the brand's September 2022 launch, representing one of the steepest volume ramp-ups in the global spirits industry. Speaking on the success, Alok Gupta, Managing Director, ABD, stated that the journey to 10 million cases redefines the growth playbook for the spirits industry and validates the goal of creating a world-class Indian whisky. The brand's proposition is resonating deeply with consumers across domestic markets and 9 countries.
The brand demonstrated remarkable growth from its initial rollout, selling 0.32 million cases in FY23 during its digital-first debut through ABD's MetaBar in the metaverse before its market rollout in select East and North India markets. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, Drinks International's Millionaires' Club Reports for 2024 and 2025 recognised the brand as the fastest growing millionaire spirits brand in the world for calendar years 2023 and 2024, respectively. The brand has expanded into Canteen Stores Department (CSD) channels and continues to grow its presence in multiple overseas markets, demonstrating its global appeal and commitment to leading the high-margin Prestige & Above segment in the spirits industry.
The brand has achieved multiple quality accolades, including Gold Medals from the International Spirits Challenge, International Whisky Competition, and India Wine & Spirits Awards in 2024, along with a Gold Quality Award at Monde Selection 2024. In 2024, the whisky secured the Superior Taste Award at the International Taste Institute 2024 in Brussels, reinforcing its international premium standing. These recognitions highlight the brand's quality positioning in the competitive spirits market and support its identity linked to India's contemporary youth culture, emphasizing individuality and authentic expression.
ABD shares were trading at ₹386.45 on NSE on Monday afternoon, down 5.39% from the previous close of ₹408.45, against an open of ₹408.65, according to market data reported by The Hindu BusinessLine. The company is one of India's largest domestic spirits companies by volume, with this milestone reinforcing its leadership position in the prestige segment. Beyond sales figures, ICONIQ White Whisky has established a strong identity linked to India's contemporary youth culture, emphasizing individuality and authentic expression, with this synergy notably visible at the recently concluded ICONIQ White NH7 Weekender 2026 festival. Looking ahead, the company is targeting a premiumisation mix of approximately 50% by FY28, which is expected to enhance overall profitability and market positioning.
