Stockbroking platform Lemonn (Nu Investors Technologies Pvt. Ltd) has launched commodity futures and options trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX), expanding its derivatives business beyond equities. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, the new offering covers non-agricultural commodities including precious metals gold and silver, base metals copper, zinc and aluminium, and energy commodities crude oil and natural gas. Zinc futures and options are the latest addition to the platform's commodity derivatives lineup, with the launch following significant growth in India's commodity derivatives market.
The launch follows significant growth in India's commodity derivatives market, with turnover reaching ₹183.3 lakh crore in FY26, as reported by a SEBI report from April 2026. The increase was driven largely by higher futures turnover, particularly in bullion contracts traded on MCX. Trading hours for the non-agricultural commodities segment run from 9:00 AM to 11:30 PM, extending to 11:55 PM during applicable periods, giving users access during Indian evening hours when global markets are active.
Ashish Singhal, Co-founder of Lemonn, stated that the addition of commodities broadens the range of exchange-traded derivatives on the platform while keeping product understanding and risk awareness central to trading. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, with this launch, Lemonn now offers both equity and commodity derivatives on a single platform. The company plans to expand further into agricultural commodities and electricity contracts over time, subject to regulatory and exchange approvals.
The company's MCX member code is 57800, according to the announcement. This expansion represents Lemonn's strategic move to diversify its derivatives offerings and capture a larger share of India's growing commodity trading market, positioning the platform as a comprehensive derivatives trading solution for both equity and commodity instruments.
