About the company
NLC India Limited, formerly Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited, is an Indian company engaged in fossil fuel mining and thermal power generation. It operates lignite mines with a total capacity of 30.10 million TPA in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu, and a 2.1 million TPA open cast lignite mine in Barsingsar, Rajasthan. The company runs five lignite-based thermal power stations with a combined capacity of 3,640 MW, four in Neyveli and one in Barsingsar. NLC India has also diversified into renewable energy, with a capacity of 1,421.06 MW, including 1,370.06 MW from solar and 51 MW from wind energy. Additionally, the company operates a 20 MTPA coal mine in Talabira, Odisha. NLC India has expanded its operations to include power trading and has formed joint ventures for various power projects.
