Canara Bank is a state-owned commercial bank headquartered in Bangalore, India. Founded in 1906, it was nationalized in 1969. The bank provides a range of personal and corporate banking services, including deposits, loans, credit cards, and digital banking. It has a significant domestic presence with over 9,600 branches and 12,000 ATMs across India. Internationally, Canara Bank operates branches in countries such as the UK, Hong Kong, and UAE. The bank has several subsidiaries and joint ventures in insurance, asset management, and other financial services. Canara Bank is actively involved in government-sponsored schemes and has received awards for its performance in various banking sectors. In recent years, the bank has focused on digital innovation, including the launch of a Data and Analytics Center in 2024. As of 2024, Canara Bank's global business exceeded Rs 22 lakh crore, with the Government of India holding a majority stake in the bank.
