Aadhar Housing Finance Limited is an Indian housing finance company focused on the low-income housing segment. Originally incorporated in 1990 as Vysya Bank Housing Finance Limited, it underwent several name changes and mergers before becoming Aadhar Housing Finance Limited in 2017. The company primarily serves economically weaker and low-to-middle income customers, offering small-ticket mortgage loans for residential property purchase, construction, improvement, and extension. It also provides loans for commercial property and loans against property. As of March 31, 2023, the company operates across 20 states and union territories with 469 branches. In June 2019, BCP Topco VII Pte. Limited, controlled by a Blackstone Group private equity fund, acquired a majority stake in the company. Aadhar Housing Finance Limited completed its initial public offering in May 2024, raising Rs 3000 Crore through a combination of fresh issue and offer for sale.
